The Gauntlet: Movement Interviews toward Spaces of Freedom

Directed by Jacob McCoy, this video documents choreographer/ researcher Coco Karol's artistic research doing 'movement interviews' concerned with notions of freedom, sortition, citizen power, and social trust. It shows how her embodied research becomes the libretto for "The Gauntlet" immersive choral performances by composer, Sxip Shirey.

The performance The Gauntlet: Spaces of Freedom was performed at the Fisher Center at Bard College in conjunction with the Hannah Arendt Center for Politics and Humanities at Bard College for the conference "Democracy: Sortition, Citizen Power, and Spaces of Freedom"
